When you mention the word "Titanic", two images usually come to mind: the sinking ship, and the movie about the sinking ship. There's even a musical about the sinking ship. Christopher Durang also wrote a play called Titanic...which really doesn't seem to have much to do with the sinking ship at all. But you can always expect something out of the ordinary with Christopher Durang.

This was the worst play I have ever seen. Incredibly awful screenplay - amateurish and juvenile script. The actors tried, but it was hard to get past their constant shouting and screaming. Just terrible. Stay away, everyone!

<p>“Titanic” by Christopher Durang was first performed in 1974, and involves the Tammurais family, who are traveling aboard the Titanic. We have the Father, the Mother, the Brother, and the Sister. Or, is she the Captain’s Daughter? There are sexual antics, mistaken identities, bizarre character twists, and hilarious commentary on American society. Strangeness abounds in this madcap farce, which the author himself describes as “funny, perverse, and silly.”</p>

Las Vegas Little Theatre, an amateur theatre company founded in 1978 by Jack Bell and Jack Nickolson, is Southern Nevada's oldest community theatre. It launched performances in a converted storefront with an initial seating capacity of 48.
