Phil Wiggins is a D.C. native, a local and national musical star, and possibly America's foremost blues harmonica virtuoso. In three decades as one half of the duo Cephas & Wiggins, Wiggins demonstrated his mastery of the melodic Piedmont or "Tidewater" blues harmonica style, as well as an exciting incorporation of other influences and even his own innovations. Guitarist and singer John Cephas passed away in 2009, but Wiggins keeps going strong, performing and recording with an eclectic array of new collaborators, including his band at this performance, the Chesapeake Sheiks.
