In this time-spanning drama, a pair of long-married -- and long-suffering -- artists struggle with the ghosts of the past, including the death of a son and a mystery surrounding a painting, when their daughter arrives home to Northern Mexico. She's been summoned by her mother, under false pretenses, to visit her father, a semi-famous expressionist now dying of diabetes. Karen Zacarías' award-winning play is performed in Spanish with English supertitles, and explores the rich culture behind the famed artistic movement led by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, as well as personal family dynamics.
