(edited) Well done! Staged readings are not usually lively enough for 5 yo's, but my daughter enjoyed this show, as did I, though if you are bringing a younger child, be prepared to step out, or give up, if they get restless. The set is very intimate and quaint. The actors were funny, my daughter, (and I), especially enjoyed Carl Wawrina who flipped from character to character with hillarious vocal riffs, yet never missed a beat even during fast-paced dialogue. The whole cast was lively and engaging. As a reading, the staging is minimal, mostly during transitions, yet it perfectly captured the eccentric tone of this classic story and was accompanied by spirited, quirky music. I really appreciated creative staging of this reading.

Great experience. Sweetly and exquisitely staged. We would love to see more readings such as this. Long Beach Shakespeare Company is our long-time favorite - great directing, amazing what they do in their cozy little theater!

More Details
The professional storytellers of the Long Beach Shakespeare Company present the tale of Alice in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll's enduring classic chronicles the adventures of a curious girl named Alice as she falls down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, where she meets strange characters such as the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, and of course the Red Queen.
This dramatic reading with lights and sound takes place in an intimate setting created by artist Brian Koehler, with just the right music for the journey. Great for the whole family!
