One of the best known saxophonists in the world, David Sanborn blends jazz, pop, rock and R&B into a smooth-as-silk sound that no other sax player has quite managed to copy. The career of this multiple Grammy winner was launched in 1975 by his (aptly-titled) debut album, Taking Off, and it hasn't come down since, spanning more than two dozen other albums. Established as both a soloist and a collaborator with the likes of Bowie, the Stones and Clapton, Sanborn now brings his "sweet-tart alto sound" (The New York Times) to Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beachfor an impassioned performance.

Excellent event. Joan Collings is a legendary Film Diva and her story is facinating. It was very well done and I loved the Q&A at the end as well.
Long before she was the ’ High Priestess of Soap Camp’ on Dynasty (or as she would say Die-Nasty), Joan Collins starred opposite the likes of Paul Newman, Bing Crosby and Bob Hope while fending off advances from Frank Sinatra and Richard Burton. Join her for a special evening as she takes an irreverent look at the highs and lows of her rollercoaster career and life in her one-woman show that left London audiences cheering. From the movies to the marriages to nearly being sold to an Arab sheik on her 23rd birthday, get set for an evening of delicious dish from this iconic diva!
