Musical Theatre West Brings Spamalot to Long Beach
- Full Price:
- $53.00 - $68.00
- Our Price:
- $26.50 - $34.00
Musical Theatre West brings its 59th season to a close with one of the funniest shows on Earth, Monty Python's Spamalot. Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, Spamalot lovingly rips off the film classic Monty Python and The Holy Grail to tell the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their epic quest. However, diverting a bit from the real story, this hilarious musical features such oddities as a line of beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen and killer rabbits. A cast of professional actors from the Broadway, Hollywood and national tours, as well as the best in local talent, will perform the show with the original Broadway sets and costumes. Learn More

The speaker was insightful and witty. He shared several stories accompanied by a slide show of his life and career. I found his stories on how he evolved Spock on Star Trek fascinating and I was surprised to learn that he is an accomplished photographer as well. The Q & A that was scheduled didn't happen, but he signed autographs, was very gracious and he made sure he made eye contact with each person that stopped by his table. Very enjoyable evening.Written on May 02 2011

The speaker was insightful, engaging, humorous and well prepared with a slide show and anecdotes illustrating his long career including his personal philosophy and motivating factors.Written on May 02 2011
Unfortunately there was no Q&A as described, and it only ran maybe 75 or 80 minutes, but I have no regret about attending, especially considering the Goldstar discount :-)

Often you meet celebrities and they disappoint you because they are not their characters, they have some kookie quirk, or they are just nothing that you would expect.Written on May 07 2011
Leonard Nimoy was outstanding. I walked away from the hour and 15 minute presentation liking him more than when I walked in. He was reflecting on his activing career, showing personal photos and just being himself. This man cares and loves humanity. He has pursued life goals with passion and he was extremely humble about his accomplishments.
He talked about how he grew to understand that although "he was not spock", he was spock. A very self aware man.
I loved him and what he had to say. This wasn't a Treky thing. Although I am sure there was some big Star Trek fans. This was a different crowd.
I was personally disappointed that he didn't talk at all about William Bell, but we exchange words about Fringe afterward when he signed his book.
He was charming.

We are long time fans of Leonard Nimoy, the actor. It was wonderful, however, to get to know him as a poet, writer, photographer, and a compassionate and spiritual human being. It was also interesting to learn just how much he contributed to making Spock such a memorable character. Without his input, Star Treck might have been just a very interesting and idealistic take on life in the future. He made it real.Written on May 02 2011
