I enjoyed the exceptional talent of all the actors. Unfortunately the role of Ito, the Asian butler was horribly racist. The name Ito is Japanese, however he had the melodramatic accent of someone from Mandarin China: Pronouncing "L's" as "Ra's". I took my half Korean wife and full Japanese friend and they were both very hurt as crowd thoroughly enjoyed Ito's mannerisms. I hope in the future that such a prestigious theatre would look beyond the art form and recognize that this type of blatant stereotypical racism is used as entertainment, not art. The director did not need to allow such things to go on to get the point across since the actor was Asian anyway. I would have given a 4 star rating if it were not for this single, yet personally important problem.
It was a great show! The lead actress was incredible. It's a must-see show.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND/OR TIME!! This play is "hands down" the most amatuerish production I have ever seen..the Chinese butler..so stereotypical...so OFFENSIVE...most of the acors "over-acted"...annoying!!...we left before the first act was over..it was absolute torture... Bottom line: They maimed Mame..period.
This play runs for three hours, a little bit longer than I would have liked.
