2 major problems: 1.) The start time you advertise is 9:00 am. The actual start time was 8:00 am. We missed an hour of what we mistakenly paid for. Which leads to 2.) The event is free - the charge is only to get into the grandstand - but the event information does not tell you that. Feeling totally deceived.
We attended this event on Sunday and just went for the finals match. Fortunately, there was a good breeze to keep you cool in the grandstand because unless you're in a VIP area, there really isn't much shade anywhere at the venue. It would have been nice if there had been better information on the event website about parking...if we'd known it was going to be $10, we would have taken the bus. That said, the event was fun and it was great to see Kerri Walsh and Misty May win their 101st consecutive match before they go off to the Olympics...definitely world-class volleyball!
The venue wasn't as nice as that in Hermosa beach but it was still great. I'd go again next year!!
Great venue & great event! Picking up tickets was a breeze. Would definitely recommend and will do again. Meeting Misty May-Treanor was a PLUS!

Have always wanted to attend an AVP event. Really loved it! Got great seats, saw some great volleyball, and (thanks to Goldstar) saved a lot of money.

We've been to this event in the past and always have a great time. We prefer the Long Beach venue over Huntington Beach because it more fun and they serve alcohol.
Great event! Long Beach was awesome host! Lots of great matches. Goldstar price was very good! Parking for event was pricey $10. Great athletes, great entertainment. Totally worth the $20, even better with Goldstars discounted price of $10 per person!
Being a transplant from the East Coast, I went to my first beach volleyball tournament last year, and this one, like the other 5 or 6 I've been to didn't fail to deliver. I've never been to a pro sporting event where you can get so close to the action.

My 7 1/2 year old grandson and I had a wonderful time at the event. We purchased his first volley ball there and he, and his 10 year old brother, are sharpening up their skills, adding this sport to their already full sports repertoire. Thanks very much for a terrific event which will be an annual 'tradition' in our family!
The AVP is great! Where else can you watch professional athletes up close for under $20 and enjoy a day in the sun at the beach?

I had a wonderful time at the AVP. I went for the women's championship in Long Beach and the action was incredible, the seats great and the weather perfect. I'd do it again.
