Betty is looking forward to a relaxing vacation at the ocean. But Trudy, whom she knows only slightly, chatters incessantly; and then there are the other housemates - sexy lout Buck, who's pathologically on the make with women all the time, and sweet, withdrawn Keith who carries a shovel and a mysterious hatbox and just may be a serial killer.

Loved this show! I did a little research before going to see Betty's Summer Vacation and I'm glad I did. I went in with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It's definitely not for the prudish or feint of heart, but if you take it for the message its meant to convey you will enjoy the raucous humor.

The cast is wonderful and I especially loved Scott T. Finn as Keith, the shy and troubled serial killer who may or may not think a beheading is "necessary". Go see Betty's Summer Vacation!

My husband and I both thought this was the worst play we have ever seen. The actress that played Betty was very good in spite of the awful script and cast that should not give up their day jobs. Any writer that thinks rape is funny evenly darkly funny should be ashamed of himself. We left at intermission.

I don't recommend this play. The first half was ok, with a nice mix of comedy and chaos. The second half felt like there was no where to go with the story and they were just trying to fill the time. The concept of the "voices in the walls" was just too way out there and too distracting.

written by Isabella, "Betty's summer vacation is not a show for the weak of heart. The content, if you do not know durang's , is sick at best. A few of the actors were worth watching; others not so much. The ensemble chorus in the 2nd act were worth sitting through the show for."

More Information About Betty's Summer Vacation

Description

Betty anticipates a happy, restful time at the ocean. But casual friend and fellow vacationer Trudy talks incessantly and the other house-mates are peculiar or worrisome. There is sexy oaf Buck who pathologically chases all women all the time. Sweet withdrawn Keith carries a shovel and an inexplicable hatbox; might he be a serial killer? Emotionally disordered landlady Mrs. Siezmagraff moves in too - and then invites an even crazier derelict to dinner. Betty's vacation is in danger of being ruined, and Betty herself seems to be falling apart. Is there really a laugh track playing? Death, destruction, pandemonium - it's all with Betty at her seaside retreat.
