Celebrate the glory of the end of World War II -- not to mention the style of the 1940s -- at the Queen Mary during its Spirit of '45 weekend. You'll enjoy access to the famed ocean liner and the Queen Mary Museum, which currently features the Bob Hope: An American Treasure exhibit (along with the Queen Mary Story and other historic exhibits). You'll also be able to participate in such activities and attractions as the audio tour of the famed Art Deco liner, the Spirit of '45 WWII History Tour, checking out the purportedly haunted areas of the ship during the Ghost and Legends Tour, viewing and photographing Seward Johnson's "Unconditional Surrender" statue, looking at the WWII Troop Displays with uniformed re-enactors and living history displays, viewing the Spirit of '45 Ceremony with VIP guests and speakers, and watching a vintage warplane demo and flyover on the Sundeck. I grew up in NYC and Christmas time always meant we were going to see snow. That's why it is important now that I live in Los Angeles to have an event to go to that can bring back those winter holiday memories. This event brings a little bit of the North Pole and East Coast to the West Coast. There is something for everyone...A Christmas Village where you can see different tree's all decorated in different themes and shop for Christmas ornamenst. Drink Hot Chocolate, and yummy treats and take many pictures not to mention the grand finally. The magnificant Ice Sculptures like you have never seen before. Life size sculptures like a Giant Panda, Toy Soldier, Cinderella's horse and carriage (life size). An igloo of delightful carved ice...It was a once in a lifetime experience on ice. I will save the best for last and let you experience it without giving it all away. You can also experience ice skating in a small rink. A wonderful family outing for everyone young or old....

What a disappointment! So pricey and really nothing to do. Parking is $15, and everything else is extra (slide, ice skating). They do try to get you to spend money on photos, gifts and food as well. The ice skating wasn't open when we were there,...continued
