Cirque du Soleil's Dralion takes its name from both the dragon and the lion, blending Eastern and Western acrobatics in a stage spectacular that deals with themes of the four elements, each its own evocative color, to search for a balance between Man and Nature. Acts include aerial hoops, aerial pas de deux, hoop diving, juggling, bamboo poles, skipping ropes and the dralions themselves. Dralion was directed by Guy Caron, Cirque's first artistic director, with Gilles Ste-Croix serving as artistic guide.

Parking was easy, with adequate signage on streets leading to the event. Parking cost was $10!

I have been to many Cirque de Soleil events but I have to say this was my least favorite. Most shows I am sitting on the edge of my seat b ut this felt like it had less effort invested. There were breaks in between acts which were irrelevant, lasted too long and boring.

Enjoyed this offering by Cirque. It is a familiar style by this company. Lots of acrobatics and dance. Fantastic costuming. Active Clowning was a constant thread throughout the show. The Goldstar seats were on the side which meant that the troupe always faced the front of the stage and we viewed from the side. Good for the price. We arrived early to pick up our tickets at will call, but this really wasn't necessary since when we came back 20 minutes before the show ( Sat night) there was a minimal line. Goldstar seats were all filled and there were many vacant seats elsewhere.

Had a great time last night watching Dralion. This is my first time seeing this particular show live, though I'm no rookie when in it come's to Cirque's performances. This marks the 21st Cirque show I get to attend but still no two are ever the same. Dralion, in my opinion, is a departure from the darker Vegas productions and relies heavily on the acts themselves rather than high-tech special effects and huge sets. The acts were spectacular, with the trampoline and aerial hoop acts being absolute favorite. I strongly recommend seating in the category 1 sections as they provide the best view of the aerial acts. My only gripe about this performance was not with the show itself, but with the venue. The Long Beach Arena is oddly configured and most of the seating is on the arena floor using fold-up chairs. Having only paid less than half of the retail price, I still believe sitting in uncomfortable folding chairs for $60 a ticket is a bit ridiculous.
