Totally awesome experience. Highly recommended for novices. Diemecke delivered the lecture by personifying Debussy (complete with fake french accent). He did a wonderful job, telling audiences the background of the piece and explained step by step how Debussy composed the piece.
I googled La Mer and watched part of it on YouTube before the event. Afte that, I dreaded going to this event, but had to drag myself for the sake of my son (music class assignment). I came out totally satisfied and glad I had to accompany my son to this event. Diemecke's "lecture" helped me enjoy the orchestra's performance as Debussy had meant it to be. Brilliant!
