Set in 1962 Baltimore, the musical Hairspray follows politically-aware plus-sized heroine Tracy Turnblad, who dreams of dancing on The Corny Collins Show and nabbing the show's heartthrob, Link Larkin. Featuring such hit songs as "You Can't Stop the Beat," "Welcome to the '60s" and "Good Morning Baltimore," Hairspray won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Original Score. The musical spawned a hit movie with John Travolta and Christopher Walken. The production for Musical Theatre West is directed by actor and frequent MTW director Larry Raben.

the musical was great, singers were fantastic and the show was just a lot of good fun. and the seats were fantastic too. we couldn't believe how close we were. a must see!

Wonderful show, that keeps you bobbing your head to the music, and laughing throughout the show. The actors were incredible. This show is a must see for musical and John Waters fans

I love this movie regardless, the music,the story and everything about it. I think they could have gotten a better Tracy but she was ok..the one who stoled the show was Mrs. Turnblad..the gentalman who played her was sooo funny i couldnt stop laughing. Highly recommend it..and I look forward to seeing a lot more.

This was a great show and we highly recommend it. A very energetic and talented cast combined with wonderful sets. This was cearly a Broadway quality show. We plan to see it again before it ends its run.
