Excellent adaption of the novel but all the male characters are left off stage so it may seam a little disjointed at times. Great cast of actresses.

My husband I went to see this last Saturday night and although we enjoyed it tremendously, it was very different from the book in that they left out all the male leads. In spite of that, they worked around that nicely and we found the play to be very well done =).

This production has much to like and enjoy especially the casting was just about perfect, enjoyed "Joe" she shone like a bright light and the old crotchety aunt. The old fashioned living room was beautifully imagined but the script has the gimmick of talking about men and looking out the window and seeing the men, the father is at war but never comes home and with no males actually written in the play they're just talked about constantly and that is a gimmick and ultimately weakens the dramatic structure. It could have been so much more affecting with real men interacting with the "Little Women". It's Kind of like a G rated "The Women", the movie starring Joan Crawford. "LW" is still a charming bauble to behold...joe

The Studio Theatre is about 1/3 of the Mainstage, but it's well worth a visit. My mom and I enjoyed the performance and the beautiful set. A first class experience.
