We had a wonderful time. The food from the various local restaurants was delicious with many different ethnic dishes to choose from. Also, all the wine and soft drinks you wanted were included.Written on Oct 17 2005
We enjoyed the entertainment, the pianist and singer were great. Also hearing Lee Merriweather and Beverly Garland reminisce about their acting careers was very interesting and also touching at times.
One negative aspect of the evening was the lack of tables to sit at while the food was served. It was rather hard having to stand while juggling food, drinks, silverware and napkins.
Also, we are not patrons of the Long Beach Playhouse, and we felt a bit out of place not being involved with the theater. Most people at the event were either actors or regular patrons. Everyone was very nice, but we did not feel like we were part of the group! Also, we did not know that this was an awards ceremony. We thought it was just a wine and food tasting event with entertainment.
I would purchase tickets again though, it was a very enjoyable evening.
