Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Composer and Lyricist, the classic musical Man of La Mancha retells the timeless story of Miguel Cervantes' Don Quixote, as a play-within-a-play. The author Cervantes re-enacts his story of the mad knight, a dying old man who lives in a world of his imagination as he awaits his hearing in the Spanish Inquisition. The show features the songs "Dulcinea," "I'm Only Thinking of Him," "I Really Like Him" and the show-tune standard, "The Impossible Dream." Davis Gaines, best known for starring in The Phantom of the Opera for more than 2000 performances in Los Angeles, San Francisco and on Broadway, plays Quixote.

Musical Theatre West Brings Spamalot to Long Beach

Full Price:
$53.00 - $68.00
Our Price:
$26.50 - $34.00

Musical Theatre West brings its 59th season to a close with one of the funniest shows on Earth, Monty Python's Spamalot. Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, Spamalot lovingly rips off the film classic Monty Python and The Holy Grail to tell the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their epic quest. However, diverting a bit from the real story, this hilarious musical features such oddities as a line of beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen and killer rabbits. A cast of professional actors from the Broadway, Hollywood and national tours, as well as the best in local talent, will perform the show with the original Broadway sets and costumes. Learn More

Wonderful! Davis Gaines' performance was superb. I can't express in words how much I enjoyed the performance. I'll definitely consider seeing more productions at this venue (even the worst seats are decent). The seats in Section B were row 17 of 20. Don't waste the extra $10 for the better section (because it isn't much better, even if you're a Red Velvet Carpet member). Also note that you should call the venue if you or a guest are disabled because otherwise there are stairs (no elevator) to the less favorable seats.

Was a very good production but a little darker than I thought it would be. Might not be appropriate for the very young or very old.

Good production, good acting & singing, a bit dark and it seemed a little long (run time almost 3 hours), but generally good

Excellent production. David Gaines was a wonderful Don Quixote. His Impossible dream brought down the house.
