I surprised my daughter and fourteen year old grandson by taking them to this event. Neither of them had been to a stage production in the Long Beach Playhouse before. I think the play was very well done and all three of us enjoyed it. To add to the nights enjoyment, It was opening night and there was food.champagne and pleasant conversation with the staff, stars of the play and fellow theater goers.Written on May 15 2006
Thanks to Goldstar Events I appreciated the price savings as well.

Move Over Mrs. Markham
Comedy by Ray Cooney & John Chapman
4/1 at 8pm
Three clandestine meetings are arranged at the same time and place—Mrs. Markham’s apartment! The Markhams plan an evening out and each secretly plans to allow the apartment to be used by a friend for an illicit affair. Their plans become a mixed–up mismatch and the Markhams end up suspecting each other of being the unfaithful ones. If you enjoyed “Don’t Dress For Dinner” you’ll find this fast-moving comedy a hoot!

Enchanted April
Romantic Comedy by Matthew Barber, novel by Elizabeth von Arnim
6/24 at 8pm
Two frustrated London housewives decide to rent a villa in Italy for a holiday away from their bleak marriages and they recruit two very different English women to share the cost and the experience. There, among the wisteria blossoms and Mediterranean sunshine, all four bloom again—rediscovering themselves in ways that they—and we—could never have expected. “Enchanted April” is as good as they come: a lush, thoroughly refreshing theatrical holiday. Escape has seldom seemed so sweet. “A magical triumph.” —LA Times.
The Man Who Came to Dinner
Comedy by Moss Hart & George S. Kaufman
8/5 at 8pm
This comedy makes fun of the 1938 New York social set. It centers around Sheridan Whiteside, who having dined at the Stanley’s home, slips on their doorstep and breaks his hip. A tumultuous six weeks of confinement at the Stanleys follows with hilarious complications such as ex-convicts being invited to meals, strange exotic gifts arriving from friends, transatlantic calls reaping $784 phone bills and the summoning of a glamorous actress to woo away Whiteside’s secretary’s boyfriend. One of the American stage’s endearing classics. A Broadway favorite!
