Long Beach Playhouse's "Our Town" is a polished diamond.

The cast was excellent. The Stage Manager skillfully orchestrated the Thornton Wilder's masterpiece. The scenes were easy to visualize with the Stage Manager's folksy narration.

"Our Town" became my town. I thougth of friends, acquaintances, family, and places in my town long gone. The graveyard scene was especially moving.

I woke up the next morning with joy in my heart and an appreciation of the beautiful day and the gift of just living life.

Bravo! And mahalo.

Beautifully done. I love the way the actors entered the stage from many angles, as the theater is almost done in the round. Really enjoyed it!

I attend this playhouse regularily and this was one of the best plays they produced at this theater. The script was very good and the plot was very creative and had some surprises for me.

The play was long with two 10 minute intermissions but kept my interest thoughout. I had fun and felt the price was a real bargain by the first intermission.

The stage manager character (actually a citizen of the community whose vision of the city was presented in the play) was well acted with a pleasant voice.

I had a extra special treat. Before the plays started, I realized I was sitting next to the play's director and behind us was some drama students who knew the parts. The group of us had some great conversations before and during the breaks in the play. I enjoyed tapping into their knowledge.

From the director, I learned the original production of the play had the same few props on the barren stage. Because of this, the play is carried totally, and wonderfully by the actors's actions and dialogue. She said she felt like she was choreographer with all the actors (comparatively a big cast for this theater) to get them to their positions and movements.

I use this theater as part of my continuing education (as well as enjoyment). This production really gave me a new vision of how to present a play.

I thought this play was excellent, I took my Granddaughters and they also enjoyed it. The acting was superb, the actors made it easy to use your imagination. The storyline was great, the venue is small but real comfortable, there is not a bad seat in the place, everyone had a good view.
I would definately recomend it.
