Written on Jul 05 2011My friends and I were so disappointed that the music was NOT on board the Queen Mary as advertised. We got there early at 11 am, sat on the harbor side and NEVER heard any music. All the activities, music were on the lawn beside the ship on the opposite side of the harbor. The food on the ship was extremely expensive. $12.50 for a sandwich, drink and chips. They provided NO chairs for all the people who paid up to $24.95 to see the fireworks from the ship. Those of us lucky enough to get one of the few chairs on board early in the day had them taken away an hour before the fireworks. The men taking the chairs away were very rude and did not care that there were handicapped people who could not stand for any length of time. I feel like it was a bait and switch by the Queen Mary. Because we had our place staked out all day, the only good thing was the incredible fireworks we saw provided by Long Beach. The Queen Mary also said they would provide chairs at 7 PM which they never did.
Written on Jul 05 2011We got our tickets in a very timely manner, however we probably will not do this event again. No happy hour (due to holiday) which was not noted anywhere on the bar menus. Wanted to have dinner at Chowder House but since we didn't make reservations we couldn't get in before 8:30 p.m. so we had to eat pizza (again) from Hollywood Cafe. Sat on the ground...but the fireworks were good.
