Man of La Mancha: Tony-Winning Classic from Musical Theatre West

Full Price:
$53.00 - $63.00
Our Price:
$26.50 - $31.50

Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Composer and Lyricist, the classic musical Man of La Mancha retells the timeless story of Miguel Cervantes' Don Quixote, as a play-within-a-play. The author Cervantes re-enacts his story of the mad knight, a dying old man who lives in a world of his imagination as he awaits his hearing in the Spanish Inquisition. The show features the songs "Dulcinea," "I'm Only Thinking of Him," "I Really Like Him" and the show-tune standard, "The Impossible Dream." Davis Gaines, best known for starring in The Phantom of the Opera for more than 2000 performances in Los Angeles, San Francisco and on Broadway, plays Quixote. Learn More

I love choral music so it is difficult to find fault. The quality was very good but one of their major pieces was a strange and disturbing substitution of the massacre at Columbine with a handing out of flowers instead of bullets from a "poem" by Simon Armitage.

Very eclectic program. This event was attended by people with a sophisticated appreciation of choral music, much like aged rock concert attendees. I am a neophyte re choral music so I liked some of it and was not tuned in to some of it. That was good for me in as much as it stretched me a little. Abstract music [of which there was considerable] is an aquired taste. It was a great experience, good theatre for choral music.

Enjoyed this choral group very much. I knew nothing about the college prior to the event, and was surprised to see so many alums in the audience. Their voices are beautiful.
