The Universal Cheerleaders Association brings its 2009 West Coast Championship competition to the Shrine Auditorium. Dance teams, recreational/youth cheerleader teams, and all-star cheer teams will compete for prizes over the course of two days, with award ceremonies taking place throughout the competition.

The event was very very good. There was a lot of talent displayed and it was fun to try to pick the top winners. We were on the money on some of our picks. The concession food was totally over priced. There was not enough tables to sit and eat at and the eating area left a lot to be desired.Written on Mar 03 2009

My only negative comment is that there should have been a "will call" window and a different window for people who paid cash or credit cards. The long line that went around the block would have gone much faster.Written on Mar 02 2009

Nice to see a niche event like his on Goldstar. I would not normally go to something like this. I took two cheerleaders from an LA high school who loved it. The parking was $10 (almost as much as a full price ticket) but it was Sunday so meters were free.Written on Mar 02 2009
The "no drinks come back into the venue" policy is ATROCIOUS. I paid $4 for three small bottles of Arrowhead (!) water AT the venue - they were not from outside vendors - and they wouldn't let us walk back into the lobby with them after the intermission. THIS IS TERRIBLE. No concessions business was lost. I can't imagine the logic behind this stupid, stupid policy but it would in fact ENCOURAGE me to bring my own stuff in if I could conceal it.
