Ring in the New Year with the silk-and-diamond decadence of The Great Gatsby as Baz Lurhmann's best films spring to life during this spectacular New Year's Eve party. Begin your stylish evening with a three-course dinner, followed by a performance of the popular show For the Record: Baz Luhrmann, featuring powerhouse performers from music, stage and screen reenacting iconic scenes and songs from Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom and The Great Gatsby. After the show, Rockwell will be transformed into a Gatsby-style 1920s' retreat. Listen to live music while enjoying the delicious buffet and glass of champagne included in the ticket price. If you'd prefer to skip the seated dinner and show and commence straight to partying the night away, the VIP Party Only option takes place in Rockwell's dazzling second-floor VIP salon decorated Gatsby style, where you can enjoy the buffet, a champagne toast, a balloon drop and live music. There was so much confusion with people arriving and checking in. Long lines to check in and then a long wait to be able to get in line to be seated in the dining room. Staff did not know what they were doing and were disorganized getting people to the dining room. Tables were haphazardly assigned. The hostess tried to stick my party of 3 with one of the worst table in the house with an obstructed view. Or wanted my party of 3 to join two more people at a table for 4. How does a party of five sit at a square table for 4? The entertainment was so-so, with singers who couldn't hit a "note" with a baseball bat. The sound system was so loud you needed ear plugs to keep from going deaf. Imagine a show where the actors are running through the packed audience while servers are trying to serve an appetizer and then an entree. What a mess! Overall, I was very disappointed in the entire evening and the way it was managed.
