The Alvin Ailey performance and dancers, as always, were lovely to watch. The singers were an added bonus, and it was marvelous to be at the 50th anniversary and to celebrate Mr. Ailey's achievement

Absolutely wonderful! The best performance they've done in LA! Full of energy...and Sweet Honey in the Rock was an added bonus! Bravo!

Join the celebration as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, America’s cultural ambassador to the world, marks its 50th anniversary of bringing African-American cultural expression and the American modern dance tradition to the world’s stages.

Each performance will open with the showing of a short film, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at 50 – A Golden Anniversary Celebration commemorating the rich 50-year history of this internationally renowned dance company.

 

FREE PRE-PERFORMANCE LECTURES:

Thirty Minute Lectures begin one hour prior to curtain and take place in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Grand Hall.
