I took my 8 year old niece to this show and she loved it. She was not familiar with the American Girls Books, and I thought this would be a great way to introduce her to the characters. What a cute little show they put on and that huge store with all the doll products is just a little girls dream! If you have a little girl, she will love it...just keep your credit cards at home unless you are willing to fork out $100+ for a doll! But it was a great fun girl day event!

Because we were fortunate to get free tickets (not including the service charge,) I will say I liked this event. However, if we had paid full price, I would have been very disappointed. Although the theatre itself is first rate, the production and acting is still 'children's theatre.' My daughter, who is 8, enjoyed it. It was worth the $6.50 we were charged per ticket, but definately not $30.00.

An hour and 15 minute musical introduction to the historical American Girl characters... I took my 7 year old daughter who loved it, but did not get all of the historical references in the show. Honestly, I thought it was a bit heavy (especially for girls on the younger side) and had I paid full price, would have been disappointed. The girls in the show were personable and talented, and my daughter really liked that she got to meet them in the lobby after the show. It's something you only need to see once, but it was a nice mother/daughter night out.

For girls in love with American Girls, this was a terrific performance. Seeing girls their own age on stage, performing, was a thrill for my girls. Although the topics addresses can be heavy (slavery, prejudice, etc), the show itself is not.
Be prepared, if you stay for autographs, for your girls to be peppered over and over again with "How many American Girl dolls to you have?" "Who's your favorite American Girl? Oh, Molly is my favorite too, I have all of her clothes." "Have you eaten in the Cafe yet?"
A bit of a hard sell to a bunch of little girls.

I had a great time. This event, although aimed at school age children, has something for all ages. It is especially wonderful if you are able to go with someone you can share it with. On a serious note, I think that the American Girl company is providing an important service in empowering young girls. I am hoping to come again!

Went to this because I got the tickets at such a low cost and my good friend's two daughters wanted to see it. I wasn't expecting much. Boy, was I wrong. First rate all around. What a nice surprise. Clearly no expense was spared and only top quality professionals were involved in the creation of this production. Highly recommended.

I took my daughter for her birthday and eight of her friends and they loved it. We were running late and they got us in quickly. It was a great experience of live theatre for the girls. I am very sad to see the theatre close.

I loved the show. Every girl just knows how to act and what to do. This show is Amazing! I recommend to all of my friends and familys.
It was mommy and daughter (8yr) day. She loved the show and got one of the doll just like her ;) not to mention, it's pretty costly ($98.00 tax included). Well, it was fun to get out and spend some time with your love ones, someone you care about. It's great that we both had this experience, something unique and we'll always remember and cherish about.

What a great show! Very talented kids performers reenact their favorite
American Girl character, and share them with a new girl on the block to make her feel welcome. The theater is lovely. Small and delightful.
