Description

Jeannine Frank's "accidental" performing arts series (now in its 15th year!) has finally found a place to call home -- Steinway Hall (a lovely 100-seat recital hall at Fields Pianos Store in West LA). For starters, she'll be launching a Friday night series, On a Humorous Note, featuring original cabaret, comedy and solo performance. The opening evening's festivities: mini-performances and surprise appearances by many of LA's best comic songwriters and satirists.

MARIE CAIN: Tonight Show vet often compared to Tom Lehrer & Randy Newman;
ALAN CHAPMAN & KAREN BENJAMIN: "devilishly clever!" NY Times;
PAUL DOOLEY: seen in "Breaking Away", "A Mighty Wind," & "Curb Your Enthusiasm";
SHELLY GOLDSTEIN: "a combination of Liza Minnelli & Bette Midler." London Metro;
RAY JESSEL: "the millennium Noel Coward!" Michael Feinstein;
ROY ZIMMERMAN: "a latter day Tom Lehrer." LA Times;
ADDITIONAL SPECIAL GUESTS TBA!
