Had a lot of fun. Had to wipe the tears from my eyes from laughing so hard. It made me want to get some Python DVDs. Thought it was too short though, to justify the cost of the ticket. There were a lot of skits they missed (of course). They did the skit that lead up to "Every Sperm is Sacred" without doing that magical musical number. I like that you could take snacks and drinks into the theater. Wouldn't spend full price, but would make this a show to go to with friends.

An excellent cast (actors yes, but also Monty Python fans!) performed some of the best of Monty Python. It was a fast paced show and very enjoyable. The material does hold up and there was a wide age range of people in the audience (I would rate the show PG13 and would think before bringing kids under 13 unless you want them to hear the Penis song, see fake female frontal nudity, and hear the "N" word and other derogatory terms for various races, ethnicities, and other language.) I'm a long time Monty Python fan and highly recommend the show!
A few reviewers mentioned there was only one Brit in the cast. You have not done your homework. There are two Brits in the cast and I would laugh my head off silly if you thought the actual Brits had the worst British accents!

This was a lot of fun. I got the tickets for my Fiance who is a huge Monty Python fan. We were mainly excited to see Hank Azaria, but it turns out he wasn't even there. But Alan Tudyk was really great in all the skits. It was easy to get to which was really nice and there were lots of places to get dinner within walking distance.

We had so much fun! The actors were really great. But the show seemed really short - 80 min. Would have loved a little more.

Even though when I first bought the tickets Hank Azaria was part of the cast An Evening without Monty Python was still a very enjoyable evening. The show was packed with belly laughs but it was over rather quickly. Maybe it was the fact that everyone was enjoying themselves and the shows quick pace that made the time just fly by. The whole cast shined with talent but diction could have been a bit better. Overall I would recommend this show for all Monty Python fans and for just a good overall night of laughs.

Great show. Tell all your friends to go see this show! Hank Azaria didn't make the performance we saw, but the rest of the cast was fantastic.

We loved it. It was an excellent evening of extremely well done Monty Python greatest hits. The cast - Jim Piddock, Jane Leeves, Jeff B. Davis, Rick Holmes, and Alan Tudyk - was outstanding. Hank Azaria is not in the production, so this info should be updated if Goldstar has not already done so. I was very glad we caught this short LA run.

It was great to see some of my favorite Python skits performed live. All the actors were excellent. I even got to meet Eric Idle afterwards!! One complaint is that I expected the evening to be longer. Given that the show was only 80 minutes, I think the tickets could have been a little cheaper. That being said, I bought the tickets through the Goldstar presale and the seats were excellent. I didn't mind not seeing Hank Azaria, but Goldstar, why don't you listen to your patrons and remove his name from the title?!

The next best thing to having Eric Idle, John Cleese and the rest of the remaining Python gang performing. The classic sketches prove that good writing performed well ALWAYS elicits belly laughs from the audience.
Bravo....Highly recommended!!

I'm not a Monty Python fan, but went with someone who is, and we both enjoyed this (although he probably enjoyed it more than I did.) I'm not sure it was worth the ticket price, since it's basically a bunch of (admittedly very talented) actors recreating skits that are widely available with the original cast on DVD. If I were a Monty Python fan, I think I would enjoy watching the Python gang more than an imitation. The full-price pre-sale seats would definitely not qualify as "good" seats. If they had been typically discounted Goldstar seats, it wouldn't have been an issue, but since I paid full price back in May, I didn't expect to be seated in what were clearly nowhere near the best seats in the house.

I took an English friend and we both had a wonderful time. It was great Pythonesque fun and I remembered many of the skits from the originals. Also had good seats. We were also full of admiration of the hard work of the actors. Just super!!! We did wonder how non-Brits or those not used to the Pythons appreciated it.

This was almost better than watching the old shows! They did a great job...a matter of fact, I thought for just a sec that I was watching Eric Idle onstage!

This was better than I expected - very funny and well performed by a 'new' generation. The only downside was that it was somewhat short. The seats were great.

this show was hysterical; the actors just great! it was so much fun seeing all the old sketches again,,, the audience was singing along with the songs... i even had the added pleasure of being seated in front of eric idle!! my only "negative" comment is that the show (at 85 min.) is too short! i'd highly recommend this show to everyone!

Prepare to have your brain warped with Monty Python lunacy and relentless laughs. If you're a fan, then you will love this live rendition of classic Python sketches. If you've never seen the TV show then this is the perfect introduction. Jane Leeves (and the whole cast for that matter) had me screaming for mercy. Seriously funny!!! Director/ex-Python Eric Idle was hanging around after and we had a good chat. I absolutely loved this show. GO!

I bought my tickets partly because I am a fan of Hank Azaria, so it was rather disappointing to get there and see that he was NOT in the show.
I enjoyed it anyway because the cast was great and the material is just so hysterical (I'm an old python fan from way back.) I just think they should remove Hank's name (I'm still seeing it here as they continue to promote it...) and not mislead people. If not, they should call it "An Evening Without Hank Azaria".

generally well done. the "travel office" and "argument" sketches were better than the python originals, and the evening moved along briskly--how the actors and dressers kept up with all the costume changes, i'll never know.

I laughed throughout the entire show! I've been a Python fan for years, and loved seeing these talented performers recreate the witty silliness (or is it silly wittiness?) My only complaint is about our seats. I'm new to Goldstar and am not impressed. The tickets were full price and were as far to the right hand side of the theater as they could be without being outside in the street! Not what I would call premium seats. I won't use Goldstar again unless the theater is very small, assuring that any seat is a good one.

It was fun - very basic with little in terms of sets or props, etc - some skits were only OK, nice but definitely not worth the money, $25 would have been about right

Very good!! I've been a Python fan for decades. They did several obscure bits (which you can find on The Secret Policeman's Ball and related DVDs), and it was all very nice. My but they DO push their liquor "bar open during the show and for an hour afterwards!!!"

Sketches held up, even with new ensemble (there were a few standout performances too). Cast obviously loved the material. Seats were great.

The acoustics were horrible; my friend and I could barely hear a fraction of what they were saying. It was also pretty short for the price.

I got the tix for my hubby who is the Monty Python fan in our household. Hank Azaria was definitely one of the deciding factors when I bought the tickets but I didn't even remember he had been billed until I read the reviews today. Everyone was terrific but Alan Tudyk was a real standout. We were in the front row on the far right. Sound was a little lopsided but all in all a very fun evening. Thank you goldstar!

I was surprised how well most of the sketches held up over the years, even when performed by people other than the original gang. Each of the actors were wonderful, and obviously having a grand old time. I had been disappointed to hear Hank Azaria wouldn't be there, but frankly, it was as funny as could be and I don't feel we missed out on a thing. A fun night. (Fabulous 2nd row seats, too!)

Unfortunately, Hank Azaria wasn't performing, but Jane Leeves sparkled! The skits were old standard Python favorites with a few new additions. A few times it got a little slow, but the musical numbers were stellar. Good evening of fun.

From the creators who brought us the Tony Winning Blockbuster musical Spamalot comes a very silly night of sketches and songs drawn from the Python cannon, An Evening without Monty Python. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Monty Python's Flying Circus, Eric Idle has collected a paeanastic laudatory exaltation of the works of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin & Eric Idle himself. Starring the Pythonesque Hank Azaria, Jane Leeves, Alan Tudyk, Rick Holmes & Jim Piddock. Partly directed by Eric Idle & BT McNicholl. It's like an evening with Cole Porter, just funnier.
