Packed with memorable tunes, Cole Porter's Anything Goes has embarked on a national tour following its Tony-winning Broadway revival in 2011. The timeless tale of boy-meets-girl -- and the roller coaster ride that follows -- showcases Porter's signature wit and masterful composition with songs like "I Get a Kick Out of You" and "You're the Top." The show centers on Billy Crocker (Erich Bergen), who's hopelessly in love with a wealthy heiress. When he sees her boarding a boat to London, he throws caution to the wind and becomes a stowaway. Madcap hijinks ensue when his fellow passengers, including sexy evangelist-turned-nightclub singer Reno Sweeney (played by Broadway vet Rachel York) and second-rate gangster Moonface Martin (Fred Applegate of Sister Act and Young Frankenstein), decide to help Billy win his true love.

Kander and Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys at Ahmanson Theatre

Full Price:
$80.00
Our Price:
$40.00

The final musical collaboration by the legendary theater team of John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret and Kiss of the Spider Woman) comes to Los Angeles for a run at the Ahmanson Theatre. This surprising and inspiring story is based on the Scottsboro case from the '30s concerning nine young African-American men who were unjustly accused of a shocking crime and whose story would eventually contribute to the Civil Rights Movement. The Scottsboro Boys is told through a mix of innovative staging and piercing songs, and garnered 12 Tony Award nominations. This production is directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (The Producers). Learn More

If you get stuck in traffic, they have pricey but good sandwiches & cheese plates at the theater.

Don't park at the Ahmanson, find less expensive parking near the theater complex

Description

When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love… proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.

Cole Porter’s roundup of nostalgic hits in the production include “You’re the Top,” “Friendship,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “It’s De-Lovely,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow” and, of course “Anything Goes.” Anything Goes is getting rave reviews across America as it makes its way toward Los Angeles.
