Having a docent taking you on your own private tour as opposed to walking around on your own was the ideal way to experience this exhibit. Our docent had been a costumer herself and added many wonderful facts we would have never discovered. What's more, she had really researched all the material in the exhibit and knew her stuff. Very nice...I highly recommend it!
You can go and see all those costumes without the tour, but the information you get from the tour guide makes all those costumes and movies more interesting. We felt that we want to see those movies again and to pay more attention to all the details. If you like movies - great experience!!!

This was a pretty nice way to spend a lazy morning. It didn't take too long and the guides were suprisingly knowledgeable. There were a lot of interesting facts and there were 22 movies they covered. Even though the venue is free, you definitely need the guide - there really aren't any signs on the display with interesting info (only who designed and who wore). The guide was really good though; enthousiastic but not annoying and she seemed very experienced (not like it was the first time leading a group). The only drawback was that some people who didn't pay just 'joined' the group and followed along.

Take a special one-hour tour of this incredible exhibit featuring 125 costumes from 25 movies of 2007. See costumes from the Oscar-nominated films Across the Universe, Atonement (including Keira Knightley’s green gown), Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Sweeney Todd and more, plus kid-friendly films such as Hairspray, Enchanted and Harry Potter. And as a bonus, the exhibit also includes the wedding dress from Marie Antoinette, which won the Oscar for Costume Design last year.
There is only one exhibit like this in the world. It's a must-see for movie fans of all ages as well as those interested in fashion. During the tour, the guide will also share amusing and fun facts about the movies, the stars, the designers and their costumes.
