Members Who Went Said:It's a festival of untested one-act plays, so it's bound to be uneven in terms of quality. It was worth attending because of the first play. Eric Jorgenson's tour de force performance in the one-man play "Black and Blue" was nothing short of phenomenal. The second play, "Misconceptions," could have been trimmed by half. The best part of the third play, "Ex's Exes," was a knockout performance by Luise Heath. But by the end of the third play, it was already 10:15, and it was stifling hot in the theater, and the manager was unable to keep a noticeable chunk of the audience from leaving. |

More Details About This Event: The Attic Studios and the Attic Theatre Ensemble will present the 17th annual Denise Ragan Wiesenmeyer One-Act Marathon at the Attic Theatre in Culver City. The One-Act Marathon will continue the Attic Theatre’s 20+ years of continuous award-winning live theatre.
Named for Attic Theatre Ensemble co-founder Denise Ragan Wiesenmeyer, who remained on the board of the Attic Theatre and Film Center until her untimely death in 2007, the One-Act Marathon’s mission is to nurture relatively unknown playwrights by offering them fully realized productions of their works or the very first time. This playwright competition has presented over 150 plays during its 17 years and in 2008, four new works culled from hundreds of submissions during a national playwriting competition, will be added to this distinguished honor roll.
