What a blast!
Who knew one’s heart strings could be touched by a marionette. Sage understated truths about life , ‘isims’, and one’s self purpose were exuded through the rubber pores of these well-crafted figures. The emotional performance gamut spanned from A to Avenue Q!
Look for gem’s like:
“If a momma bird pushes her youngen out of the nest to fly, and the baby bird flies high, that good. But if the momma bird pushes her youngen out of the nest and the baby bird falls to the ground and gets eaten up by the neighborhood cat, that youngen going to have to do better next time.”
“You know you in love with someone, if you wants’ta kills ‘em.”
"Everyone's a litte racist."
If it comes to your neighborhood, I highly recommend your seeing this. You’ll leave the theatre with that ‘feel-good’ feeling – similar to “Mamma Mia”.

I thoroughly enjoyed this program as I expected I would. I've listened to the Broadway Cast Soundtrack since it's release and have come to know and love the music and characters. Now seeing the production live on stage I feel that my Avenue Q theater experience has now been fulfilled. I overheard several other audience members talking during intermission and after the show. A general consensus seemed to be that everyone had a very good time and couldn't help but be entertained. In some cases, no matter how hard they tried not to do so. Being that I attended the matinee on the first day of Previews, I noticed a large number of elderly people in the audience. It was obvious in some cases that the adult nature of the program and language were quite surprising to some and bordering on offensive to others. But I never saw anyone get up and leave. And after the applause of the standing ovation had faded with the final curtain and the brightening of the house lights, some of those previously shocked patrons were laughing and smiling as much as the rest of us.
