In the latest comic meditation from renowned playwright Murray Mednick, The Fool and the Red Queen experiments with archetypes to explore human nature and the processes of theater. A struggling actor named Gary finds himself at a nightmarish audition where the audience discovers the magical ability of the theater to create new realities -- in this case, a darkly funny and improvised play-within-a-play similar to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Marie and Bruce. Driven by poetic impulse rather than linear storytelling, The Fool and the Red Queen is a ruefully funny, lyrical look at the theater and the natural elements that drive us all. Learn More

The title is deceptive and I felt cheated since whe didn't go into an borage of bad dates but some other random stuff that isn't worth mentioning even. The acting was good but the story line just not interesting enough. I love Sex and the City and did not find this worth seeing. I was excited about it even up until walkinging in and seeing the ton of shoes and clothes laid about thinking I would really enjoy this but I DID NOT. I was tempted to walk out as well but didn't in hoped that the show would redeem itself but alas I should have walked out. Not horrible but you're better off trying something else and in hopes that it may be better. Sorry to be so harsh but the title is deceitful.Written on May 10 2010

The show was ok. I know it is difficult to pull off the one person type of production but at the interval I decided to leave. If you are a huge fan of sex and the city you will probably love it but as I hate that show it was not that thrilling, sorry.Written on May 07 2010

Loved the acting. High energy & mesmerizing to watch. As a guy I could have done without the 20 minute tirade about shoes.Written on May 03 2010
Cut it down from 2 hours to 90 minutes & it will be 5 stars.

- "... a seemingly frivolous comedy is transformed into a portrait of a tough and resourceful woman. And (Samara) Frame engagingly captures both aspects of her contradictory nature." -- L.A. Weekly
Description
Bad Dates is a romantic comedy about single mom and waitress Haley, a transplant from Texas to Manhattan. Haley has 600 pairs of shoes, a shaky relationship with the Romanian mob, a restaurant to run, and she's juggling all that with diving back into the dating scene. Actress Samara Frame portrays the warm and lively Haley as she recounts her dating adventures from her bedroom as she winds down from one and readies herself for the next.
