The young, talented dancers of Marat Daukayev Ballet Theatre perform two of ballet's most lyrical works: Sleeping Beauty and Paquita. With a sumptuous score by Tchaikovsky, a fairy tale plot of the triumph of good over evil and classical courtly style, Sleeping Beauty is the ideal production for Marat Daukayev Ballet Theatre's accomplished student dancers. Paquita is Petipa's virtuosic 1881 ballet about a young girl who saves the life of a young French officer, who himself is the target of a Spanish governor who plots to have him killed. A much-loved ballet that showcases the talents of its soloists, Paquita's choreography includes the famous Grand Pas Classique, the Pas de Trois and the Children's Mazurka. Learn More

Renowned for her thunderous footwork, commanding presence and fiery elegance, Sara Baras is Spain’s most popular dancer and a modern flamenco icon. Winner of Spain’s most prestigious dance award, the National Dance Prize, in 2003, and named “Face of Andalusia” in 2002, Baras also recently broke box office records during her five-month run in Madrid. After her spectacular Royce Hall debut in 2004, Baras and her dazzling Ballet Flamenco are back with Sabores (Flavors). Dedicated to Baras’ mother and first dance teacher, Concha Calero, this new work showcases the many styles and flavors of flamenco.
