A Story Lately Told: Coming of Age in Ireland, London and New York recalls Academy Award-winning actress Anjelica Huston's (Smash, The Grifters, Prizzi's Honor) childhood adventures on a bucolic Irish estate. It was there that she formed her complex relationship with her father, famed film director John Huston (The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen), as he played host to friends like John Steinbeck and Marlon Brando. Once her parents separated, she soaked up the '60s music scene in London before moving to New York's Chelsea Hotel, where she embarked on a modeling career -- as well as an affair with the much older, and often troubled, photographer Bob Richardson. This evening celebrates Huston's Irish upbringing with readings, rare footage and a live performance by The Americans. At the conclusion of Huston's conversation with one of Ireland's greatest living writers, Colm Toibin, she will be signing copies of her book, which will be available for purchase courtesy of the mobile Library Store. This was a fantastic play- The acting was superb and the story was incredibly uplifting. Having actual members of the Tuskegee Airmen in the audience made the night incredibly special.
The will call situation at the theatre was not pleasant--but the play, the director and the actors were worth the wait!
