Set in the remote wilds of Alaska, Brilliant Traces explores what separates us and eventually brings us together through incisive dialogue, humor and heartache. A lonely figure hunkered down from a raging blizzard is suddenly interrupted by a woman in full bridal regalia, having fled her impending marriage. These two strangers are forced by nature to share their reasons for fleeing the outside world, slowly realizing they share a similar sense of desperation and longing. A thought-provoking portrait of the human condition, Brilliant Traces is a production that will stay with you long after you leave the theater.

I am familiar with this play and thought the actors and director missed the boat. The male lead played one note - "annoyed ass" throughout and the female played "dazed and confused".Written on Mar 19 2012

We enjoyed "Brilliant Traces" which has at least a few brilliant moments, especially where humor is involved. The performances were excellent and the stage setting in the intimate theater genuinely captures the atmosphere of an isolated cabin in Alaska The story weaves in and out of moments of hilarity and dead serious issues of the heart, Felt like it was almost hitting on too many deep emotional and philosophical issues, but found that it stayed with me.. Found phrases of dialogue and metaphors kept coming to mind over the next week or two in relevant situations. Overall, enough highly relatable human angst peppered with humor makes it worthwhile. (Also allow a little extra time to find street parking).Written on Feb 24 2012
