Writer-performer Evan Brenner stars in this bio-play, Buddha: A Fantastic Journey, directed by Tony- and Oscar-nominated stage and film actor John C. Reilly. The show tells the life story of the man we know as Buddha, who lived in Northern India around 500 B.C. and introduced the teaching known as Buddhism. Derived from ancient Buddhist sources, the script illuminates this religious icon's life in insightful ways. It makes for a great adventure story that conveys the evolution of his thought, his triumphs, and the rarely portrayed tragedy at the end of his life.

Multimedia Art Show Synesthesia Explores Process of Inspriation

Where do ideas come from? How is the artistic process born? The multimedia show Synesthesia tries to tackle those questions with a game of "creative telephone.", in which eight artists working in different genres work together to inspire each other. The first artist was asked to select a fortune cookie and given two weeks to create a piece based on the fortune. The next artist will see that creation and then must design his own pieces, and so on, until this show, which will be an evening of their work performed live, in sequence, providing a unique glimpse into the creative minds of these gifted artists. I probably would have appreciated this show more if I could have stayed awake. The subject matter was dense. The performer had a monotone. The music was relaxing. The room was warm. I really looked forward to learning about Buddhism, but all I got was a good sleep venue.

Very ambitious one-man show. Siddhartha-like recitation of Buddha's life experiences. Could have used a little more of the musical backdrop. Great venue. Club/bar/theatre.

The inspiration for attending was that my friend had named her cat Buddha so, I had no expectations. I was totally enthralled by the content, the actor and the supporting elements. I'm very happy to have attended this performance.
