The venue and the concert were outstanding. The price of the ticket didn't indicate how very good the seats were.

This Cal Phil concert was much like the old Boston Pops that I so enjoyed years ago when I lived in Boston. It probably was more creative and fun than the Boston Pops of today. The conductor is a man of great humor and makes the audience feel welcomed and involved more than any conductor that I can remember. We had a very good time. The one caveat is that the Cal Phil (or the Goldstar block of tickets) seems to attract some audience members who haven't a clue of concert etiquette. The woman next to me bounced in her seat to the sound of the music, shaking the whole row. Another woman seemed to think that the music obligated her to move her body and shake her long blonde hair as though she were a groupie at a rock concert. Such behavior can all but destroy the enjoyment of a symphonic production. Fortunately I was able to move seats, but my favorite piece by Ives was all but ruined by their inability to contain themselves and follow the rules of concertgoing. h

Totally delightful!! The music was terrific, the pianist was especially great and the conductor is thoroughly amazing with his info about the pieces he is about to conduct to help educate me more so that I enjoy the music even more than the last time that I heard it performed. He has such a great personality that I enjoy him more each time I see him--my daughter liked him so much that she "just wanted to squeeze him." ENJOYED!!
