No topic is taboo for Ryan Stout, whose clean-cut look belies his nature to delve into morally repugnant subject matter with smart and sterile objectivity for big laughs. Using exaggerated honesty, delightful insincerity and mock self-righteousness, Stout's wickedly dark material appeals to everyone's sense of logic. Make no mistake, Stout will talk about rape and abortion, but to keep things on an intellectual level, he'll do his best not to curse. A veteran of Chelsea Lately and various MTV shows, Stout will take you into a dark corner ... and make you laugh out loud. Learn More

The club wasn't in the best of areas and the space could use some major renovations. The event itself was decent. As with any comedy show, there are some good comedians and some bad ones. There was a blues band that opened the show which was good but it would have been nice if they had started on time. Nothing actually happened until 30 minutes after the scheduled time. It was good but I wouldn't go back.Written on Oct 01 2007

Just a block from the Pershing Square subway stop, in a cool old building, with comfortable seats, a bar, a great house band, and of course Garret Morris. There's no drink minimum, so for the price of your ticket you can have two hours of fun.Written on Sep 29 2007
It's in a temporary location on the second floor while the building is being refurbished. This is pure stand-up, no sketch or improv, with a different comedian each week. As word gets around, the Downtown Comedy club will rival those on the West Side.

The venue could be better. Other than that, I had an enjoyable evening!Written on Sep 24 2007

Most of the comedians were top notch; the facility definitely needs work and the bar wasn't well equipped; there also was no table service.Written on Sep 24 2007

Description
Comedians T.K. and William Hale have brought their companies together, Rebels of Comedy and Hale Yes Productions, and created this ten-day festival to bring together the best and the brightest in the stand-up comedy world.
The categories for this year are Fresh Faces, Ladies Night (ladies only), Comedy From The Edge and Clean Comedy. Five comedians from each category will be chosen to move on to the semi-finals where all categories will blend together. The final two from each semi-final event will perform at the grand finale. A cash pot of $5,000 will be divided and given out to the various winners at the grand finale.
“We wanted to bring together and give comics the opportunity to perform in one of the best comedic cities on the country,” said producer/comedian T.K.
