Spend An Evening with Christopher Cross as the five-time GRAMMY-winner talks about his latest modern-pop release Doctor Faith and performs a selection of songs from the new disc. Cross gained fame in the early '80s with his self-titled debut album, spawning the huge hits "Sailing," "Ride Like the Wind" and "Never Be the Same." He followed that up with "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)," the smash soundtrack single from the 1981 Dudley Moore movie, winning an Oscar and Golden Globe for "Best Original Song." Continuing to actively perform and record, Cross discusses the development of his songcraft with MusiCares Vice President Scott Goldman, after which he'll take audience questions.

Perfect way to see an artist live! With under 200 in the audience, it was truly an intimate concert. He sang all the hits and discussed how they came to be. Thanks Goldstar!

Description

Join the GRAMMY Museum as it welcomes famed singer/songwriter Christopher Cross to the Clive Davis Theater. Helping to define adult contemporary radio in the early 80's, Cross charted eight songs into the Billboard Top 40, garnering five GRAMMYs and an Oscar. Through the ensuing decades, Cross has steadfastly continued to hone his artistry, producing album after album of vital, uncompromising music, most in collaboration with long-time cohort Rob Meurer.

Christopher's new album, Doctor Faith, is a beacon of thoughtful modern pop, dedicated to his primary inspiration, Joni Mitchell. Come hear him in discussion about Doctor Faith and his commitment to the advancement of his craft. After the interview with MusiCares Vice President Scott Goldman, Cross will take audience questions and perform a selection of songs.
