It was a great adventure hunt. It's actually our second time out to a race la event. This one was much more difficult than the average race la events, I'm assuming because there are keys involved. We also ended up using our phones with internet and maps since we didn't know the area very well. The questions were difficult, we asked firemen and police men alike and no one had answers. It just goes to show the racela guys clearly take a lot of time, effort and creativity in making the clues and it shows. Also, just know that it was HOT! Bring water and snacks, it is right in the middle of lunch time.Written on Aug 27 2009

Whew...it was a hot, hot day. The race itself was fun, but really really difficult without someone standing by, a phone call away, looking the clues up on google as the capabilities of our cellphone internet search function was not sufficient. It was still a neat experience and I would do it again.Written on Jul 13 2009

Despite the insane heat that day, we had a good time. CityRace asks a series of questions about a defined particular part of Los Angeles and your team must run around to answer them - so you learn things you did not know about that area and also get a workout. This particular version also directed teams to locate hidden "keys" throughout the race in order to open a prize box. I did not enjoy this race as much as their Chinatown race (the only other one I've done), since the questions were more esoteric and not easily solved without benefit of internet searches. By contrast, one could solve nearly all the Chinatown race questions by looking around carefully or asking people. But we still had fun and learned a lot.Written on Jul 27 2009

This was our first race, and we definitely consider it to be a practice run, since we didn't really know what to expect. Now that we do, we'll definitely be doing another one.Written on Aug 17 2009
