This event was awlful. The place was terrible, run down hotel. The inside of the place where the event was held was OK but you could tell that the Hotel needed lots of work and improvement. We couldn't believe that they held a comedy review there. The ladies room was upstairs and my sister had to climb so many stairs to get there and it was crummy. To the right was open windows and broken furniture. The band was horrible and the service was lousey. Jamie Kennedy was even making comments about how awlful the hotel looked. My guess and I felt that it was a waste of money and time, and also we all felt that Jamie looked like he was high on something, kept making lot of mistakes and couldn't remember his jokes. He never smiled at his guess and seemed distant. We will never go to that comedy place again. We came all the way from Palos Verdes and don't let me tell you about the parking.... Horrible and scary. I was so embrassed. My sister came from Florida to see that and it was so disappointing.

It was one of the funniest comedy shows I've seen in a long time. Jamie Kennedy was good, but the three comedians before him were hysterical! Garret Morris was very cool too! Hard to believe he is 72 years old, you wouldn't know it!

The venue was interesting and will someday be outstanding if/when it's finished. The only complaint I have is the time standing at the entrance, waiting for the first show to end so we could take our seats. I believe we were still standing outside the doors for at least 15 minutes after our show was scheduled to begin. I have to say though, it was well worth the wait. Thank you for the enjoyable time and my friend and I plan to attend more of Mr. Morris' shows in the future!

P.S. Check out the photo of Jamie Kennedy and I after the show! He was more than accomodating!

Jamie Kennedy and others were very funny. I must admit I am not a Jamie Kennedy fan and the sole purpose of my attendance was to see Ice Cube. Who by the way did not appear. But the comedians were all funny which helped to ease the disappointment I felt. On the other hand everyone was nice but beware… the location is definitely a dive. I figured I'd wait till I got home to go to the bathroom!! Great job Jamie, Flip and others. And yes I would go again.

The down town comedy club was located at what appeared to be an abandoned hotel kind of like the one in the movie Shinning. It was super creepy on the second floor where the bathrooms were located.

I thought the old rustic look and atompshere was very exciting and the show itself was very entertaining. Jamie Kennedy kind of ran out of jokes at the end and he looked like he was drunk on stage. I don't blame the guy I guess being that I went to the 10pm showing. There was an 8pm showing also.

Overall I had a good laugh. It was a good experience and I would recommend it to my friends and family. The bad side of it was probully the parking. You have to park down the street at a parking lot and walk a block were a lot of homeless people frequent. I'm sure someones bound to get robbed one of these days so be careful.

False advertisement...Ice Cube & Fred Durst did not perform or appear. Ice Cube was performing in Texas! Jamie ran out of material and started reading from his notes. He was so bad, people were leaving. We were so excited and really thought Goldstar was trustworthy... I will be suspicious of your ads going forward and I can't recommend this type of poor performance to friends.

I liked it, although it said you would be seated in the first 3 rows no one there was steating you.

The comedians were funny, but the event started at least 30 minutes late. I was surprised at the style of the venue: we sat on folding chairs in a huge ballroom that was roped off by curtains. We asked another couple to go with us and thank God they did not go because I would have been embarrassed that I recommended this event.

I have used Goldstar for several years for many events and for the first time came across a horrible event.
This past Friday 3/14 – The Jamie Kennedy Comedy Show was beyond horrible. The venue was horrific, the parking was even worse (I got locked inside the parking structure). It appeared as if we were in some abandoned building having some underground party some folks just put together for the sake of using a vacant hotel. The bathrooms were even scarier and the men’s room was also a laundry room that was being actively used. The reserved sitting stated when I purchsed the tickets - did not exsist.
The event was very disorganized and I was totally embarrassed as I had purchased 5 ticket and brought friends along with me.
Needless to say, I was very, very disappointed and although I stayed through out the entire event in hopes that it would get better – it only got worse.
I would highly suggest not listing this group/venue of events on your list again. It really did a dis-service to all the great events Goldstar normally features.

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. They started a little late though, close to 8:30. Garrett Morris kept everyone entertained and guaranteed that everyone would laugh their asses off. Jamie and the other comedians were very funny and raunchy. Although I agree w/ another reviewer. Jamie didn't look like he was "into" the show. But still funny. And what's up w/ the advertisement for Ice Cube and Fred Durst? They didn't show up.

Not so sure about the hotel (it seriously looked like we could have been on the set for "The Shining")... but glad we took the chance. I was paranoid that the 2 huge chandaliers would come crashing down on us! The upstairs women's bathroom wasn't a pleasant sight either. Parking was easy to find, there was a parking structure right next to the hotel. However, when we left the show just after 10pm, a rent-a-cop guard was in the process of closing the gates w/ a lock! Luckily, we told him we were on our way out, so he waited for us to leave. Not even sure if he "worked" there, since there were several cars still parked in the garage when we left. The hotel isn't in the nicest part of downtown LA either, so take your chances if you park on the street.

The comedians were Excellent and exceeded my expectations ... However the show did not start till 11 and we arrived at 945 for a 10 o clock show ... This kind of set a negative tone for the evening intially but the comedy really made up for that .. I would just suggest a heads up on the time thing in the future ...

The sound system was bad. The other comediennes were just okay.
Jamie was clearly not into it. The bathroom was horrendous.

Location itself is quite strange - undergoing very heavy construction. Location is on first floor, not second as indicated. Facilities (restrooms) very limited and without supplies. Show itself was quite fun - comedians were great, though do not expect much from location!

Show was not very organized. I was under the impression that it was Jamie Kennedy only. Hotel was very creepy and not in great condition. Mens bathroom was very dirty. Felt like I was in a hunted mansion. They said plenty of parking on Spring, not so. the 2 parking garages they had on spring one was small and full and the other one closed at 9:00pm. But Garrett comedy tried, Just building and Parking not great.

They are doing some remodeling at the Alexndria Hotel, so the seating was not very comfortable, but the comedians were great and definitely worth the money for a fun night out.

the event was on the first floor, not such a nice place, metal chairs, and ice cube was not there. Jamie Kenendy was very intertaining, but i can not say the same for rest of proformers. the event stated about 45 minutes late,

I attended the comedy show once before and didn’t really enjoy it. when I noticed that Jamie Kennedy and friends were attending I knew it was going to be a blast and it was… the only two things I will complain about is 1) The person who was taking photos was shooting way to much, he blinded me a few times, and the other thing is I remember the description stating Ice Cube will be there- I didn’t see him… all in all it was a good night and we enjoyed ourselves…
