Members Who Went Said:The venue was great. Weather was perfect and the seats were good. First 2 acts were surprisingly good. I guess since I wasn't expecting too much. Dwight was a little disappointing. It didn't seem they could get the speaker working or something but the guitars seemed to override the singing. Words mushed together and weren't understandable so then they all ended up sounding the same. Dwight looked cute and his fancy footwook was nice to watch in the beginning, but even that got old. He doesn't have much stage presence or personality so it got old quickly. All in all it was a great night since the weather, venue and acts were good.
Kurt Mueller The Musical Mule These ½ price seats in the terrace section were very good. They were not way over to the side. The Greek theatre is a wonderful small venue anyway with really no really bad seats and fine a fine sound system. A real winner here!
Mitch Samonte Humble handmaid. The show was a stand up and dance delight. What a great time we had! Thanks for the experience. |

More Details About This Event: The Greek Theatre is hosting Go Country 105’s Summer Under the Stars concert, which will star country legend Dwight Yoakam. Also performing are Chris Cagle, Emerson Drive, and more!
Kentucky native Dwight Yoakam blazed out of the Los Angeles club scene in 1986 with his debut Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc., which went on to score double-platinum status. The two-time Grammy winner has garnered 21 nominations in the course of his career, while selling more than 23 million albums worldwide and earning praise from the likes of Time magazine, hailing him as “A Renaissance Man,” Rolling Stone (noting “he has no contemporary peer”), and Vanity Fair (claiming “Yoakam strides the divide between rock’s lust and country’s lament”). Chris Cagle’s first two albums (both certified gold) have produced seven hits, four of which were Top 10’s. Chris' eleventh single to date, a song entitled "What Kinda Gone", was released to country radio in late 2007. Currently a Top 10 hit on the country music charts, “What Kinda Gone” is the lead-off single to his fourth studio album My Life's Been a Country Song, which was released on February 19, 2008. Emerson Drive hit the Country mainstream with Top 5 hits including “I Should Be Sleeping” and “Fall Into Me.” The band’s current album, Countrified, produced their first #1 hit and Grammy nomination, “Moments.” Emerson Drive has received numerous awards and nominations throughout their career from the ACM, CMA, CCMA and more. The band is currently in production on their fourth album, with hit producer Josh Leo and music legend Teddy Gentry, which is set for a Fall 2008 release. About The Greek Theatre: Nestled into a green, tree-enclosed canyon on a hillside in Griffith Park, the open-air, award-winning Greek Theatre is one of Los Angeles' most historic entertainment venues. This 5,700-seat venue offers an intimate concert setting, with state-of-the-art acoustics combined with excellent site lines. |
