David Gray had been making records for nearly a decade when his album ‘White Ladder’ reached the top of the UK album charts.  Mixing classic acoustic singer-songwriter influences with contemporary studio trickery, his subsequent records have earned him a huge following and moved Joan Baez to call him one of the best lyricists since the young Bob Dylan.
