World of Theater Explored in The Fool and the Red Queen
- Full Price:
- $25.00
- Our Price:
- $12.50
In the latest comic meditation from renowned playwright Murray Mednick, The Fool and the Red Queen experiments with archetypes to explore human nature and the processes of theater. A struggling actor named Gary finds himself at a nightmarish audition where the audience discovers the magical ability of the theater to create new realities -- in this case, a darkly funny and improvised play-within-a-play similar to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Marie and Bruce. Driven by poetic impulse rather than linear storytelling, The Fool and the Red Queen is a ruefully funny, lyrical look at the theater and the natural elements that drive us all. Learn More

Wonderful performances by all. The story was well written and touched on the fact that EVERYONE comes with baggage. I would definitely see it again and strongly recommend it.Written on Feb 15 2010

I thought the story was wonderful. The actors really got the point across. I also thought it was cleaver the way they moved the stage around. You have to be creative in a small theater.Written on Mar 04 2010

Description
Love is a battlefield … and DITCH is a whimsical new comedy that delights in an irreverent and humorous look at the trials and tribulations of love, and relationships. Who we love and who we try desperately not to love determines much of where we go in life. William and Beth are two people who grapple from within for their truest selves, and for the ability to love honestly.
The world premiere of Taylor Coffman’s DITCH is being launched by Mutineer Theatre Company, one of the newest performing arts ventures in Los Angeles. Mutineer’s inaugural production of Lie With Me opened to rave reviews and several ‘Critic’s Pick’s’ in March 2009.
