Master Conductor Eric Whitacre, Choirs of America and the 800 singers of the American Music Performance (AMP) Invitational Massed Choirs perform a concert of Whitacre's music, benefiting the Harmony Project. Whitacre, a Juilliard graduate, is one of the the most popular and performed choral composers of his generation; a recording of his works received a 2007 Grammy nomination. Proceeds from this concert benefit The Harmony Project, which provides music education and programs to the Los Angeles area's at-risk youth.

Eric Whitacre is a relatively new discovery for me and I love his music very much. It is simple but very beautiful. He is very creative and interesting. I am also impressed with his personal genuineness and humility. If professional singers had performed it, I would have rated it as a 5.0

The performance itself was outstanding. The kids sang their hearts out, and Mr. Whitacre's performance was exceptional. All choral directors and composers should be blessed with such passion, but that's what separates the mediocre from the best!

As for the timing of the event, it was billed to start at 5pm, but did not start until 5:30pm, but that would be out of Goldstar's control. The security and staff at the venue was professional and friendly.
