Arthur Schnitzler's controversial play La Ronde receives a contemporary update as The Ark Theatre presents F*cking Hollywood. Originally written in 1897, La Ronde went unproduced for nearly two decades due to its controversial subject matter. The Ark's new adaptation keeps the amorously adventurous characters of the original and drops the whole sordid affair into the already sordid environs of contemporary Hollywood.

Is it love, or is it something slightly more unseemly that really makes the world go round? In the microcosm of the world known as Hollywood, various dark forces fuel the insanity and keep the whole silly merry-go-round spinning madly…round and round and “ronde.”
Ark Artistic Director Paul Wagar’s modern re-imagining surveys the sexual exploits on all rungs of the L.A. entertainment ladder: The Studio Head, The Producer, The Actor, The Director, The Screenwriter, the lowly PA and others get in on the action. “Fucking Hollywood” explores the sexual behavior (and misbehavior) that insinuates itself into nearly every Hollywood transaction and the consequent glory, misery and dismay that elevates egos and wrecks lives. At turns funny, touching and horrifying, “Fucking Hollywood” lays it all bare and invites the audience to share in the lunacy.
The cast features Renae Geerlings, Hal Perry, Peter Ross Stephens, and Dee Amerio Sudik. Andrew Crusse directs.
