Southern California's only Nutcracker production with a full symphony orchestra stars So You Think You Can Dance finalist Melissa Sandvig and Seth Orza, principal dancer with the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Now in its 31st season, this stunning version of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet by artistic director David Wilcox also boasts sparkling sets and costumes, dazzling pyrotechnics and magic effects -- along with a special appearance by Rebel, Long Beach Ballet's gorgeous white Arabian horse. The Los Angeles Times calls it "opulent, family-oriented holiday entertainment." Learn More

I took my friend who is a spanish teacher and just returned back from spain to the flamenco show and dinner at El Cid for her birthday. It was fantastic. We both had a great time and she said it was truly authentic to spain and Flamenco. The dinner was increadible I had jumbo shrimp with vegetables and rice and my guest had filet mingon. It also came with bread, soup, and salad. The show was fantastic and included a live 3 piece flamenco band and two dancers that were brilliant. They even added audience participation as well which made it a truly enjoyable festivity. The restaurant located on sunset is a traditional spanish cellar restaurant and really transformes you into a wonderful evening of food, dancing and fun and all in the heart of LA. I would highly highly reccomend this event and would definetly attend again. Its great for family, friends, date night, or celebrations. Just to inform you the drinks and dessert are not included and they add an 18% gratuity of the origional price so my bill came to 40 dollars on top of the 50 dollars I paid to gold star, which still saved me about 20 dollars but just wanted to let you know.
Experience the romantic and exciting art of flamenco dancing that has been at El Cid since 1961. A landmark in Silverlake that is a great show for a group or a romantic evening for two. This event includes a three course meal (soup, salad and a choice of an entree) and the show at a special discounted Goldstar only price.
Almardiente is a Flamenco dance company comprised of seven fiery, sensuous and talented young women. Alma meaning soul, and Ardiente meaning ardent or fiery, Almardiente puts on a show that is not to be missed.
Performing with some of the most talented and respected Flamenco singers and musicians around, Almardiente presents an exciting and beautiful performance of Flamenco song and dance that offers both traditional and modern styles of Flamenco. Drawing from a vast repertoire that includes bulerias, tientos, alegrias, sevillanas, guajira, solea por bulerias, tangos, rumbas and fandangos, this show is unlike any other.
