The most horrible experience I have encounter thru Goldstar.

I’m a goldstarmember for several years now, and up to last Thursday all the events I had attended left me very satisfied. I signed up for dinner and the show at “El Cid” to celebrate mothers day. We showed up to the place on time. Drinks and appetaizers were not included and we were explained that since the beginning. We ordered an appetaizer and sangrias. I would say the suffed mushrooms were average but the sangria was the worst I have tried and very overpriced. Anyway, we ordered what we wanted to eat, but I cannot comment on that because we never got the food. Food was supposed to be served before the show, but the show started and the food still had not arrived. I will be fair and say that the show was not the best, but it was entertaining that we forgot about the food until the show was over and I realized everyone else had eaten and getting ready to leave and we still had not gotten our food. A waiter came by and said, “your food is almost ready,” and I told him that everyone had already eaten and were now leaving and he said with a very rude attitude, “well…do you want to eat or not?” At this point I went to talk to the host and explained what happened and her only words with an attitude too were, “you need to talk to the manager.” I then asked her where he was and she just said, I don’t know, he was here right now and she left. We were very upset that we left our table and I went to the bar and asked the bartender that I needed to see the manager. One waiter went to look for him. Then, the hostess came and gave me the check for the drinks and the appetizer and I just thought this was the most cynical thing to do. I told her that I would not pay and that I needed to see the manager. Even other people noticed what had happened and were commenting about the super bad service we received.

Finally, the manager, Tobin Shea came and I think he already knew what happened, when I explained it to him he was emotionless and simply said that he was sorry and that there was nothing he could do. The only explanation he gave us was that our order got lost. I mentioned that this was the first time I was in that place and obviously the last. I also mentioned that I wanted my money back because obviously we did not consumed what we paid for and he said I had to contact goldstar and that he could not do anything else.

Of course I will not return there ever again. I tried to contact you to notify you that the only reason I went there is because you recommended that place and I trust goldstar.

I took my friend who is a spanish teacher and just returned back from spain to the flamenco show and dinner at El Cid for her birthday. It was fantastic. We both had a great time and she said it was truly authentic to spain and Flamenco. The dinner was increadible I had jumbo shrimp with vegetables and rice and my guest had filet mingon. It also came with bread, soup, and salad. The show was fantastic and included a live 3 piece flamenco band and two dancers that were brilliant. They even added audience participation as well which made it a truly enjoyable festivity. The restaurant located on sunset is a traditional spanish cellar restaurant and really transformes you into a wonderful evening of food, dancing and fun and all in the heart of LA. I would highly highly reccomend this event and would definetly attend again. Its great for family, friends, date night, or celebrations. Just to inform you the drinks and dessert are not included and they add an 18% gratuity of the origional price so my bill came to 40 dollars on top of the 50 dollars I paid to gold star, which still saved me about 20 dollars but just wanted to let you know.

extremely impressive performances by the flamenco dancers. brought back memories of when i lived in spain. the food was also delicious, with plenty of options so everyone in your party is happy. the waiter was great, the ambiance, darkly lit, was also great. i'm highly recommending this show to my friends and family. what a winner!
