October 14-16, 2011 at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion: Scottish Ballet
The season begins with a Music Center debut-and a US first-of Scottish Ballet under the artistic direction of Ashley Page. Known throughout the United Kingdom for its strong classical technique, Scottish Ballet presents a broad repertoire of classics and 20th century choreography. The October performance will include Sir Kenneth MacMillan's masterwork Song of the Earth. The engagement will also feature a North American premiere by one of today's most sought-after choreographers, Jorma Elo.

Support for the company's U.S. Tour was provided by the Scottish Government and the British Council.

December 2-4, 2011 at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion: The Joffrey Ballet - Nutcracker
To celebrate the holidays, The Joffrey Ballet will bring the magic of the season with its stunning production of the Nutcracker. In Robert Joffrey's rendition of the classic story, dazzling costumes, contemporary choreography and an imaginative set will delight generations of dance lovers. In addition, the performance will twinkle brightly with a live performance by LA Opera's Orchestra.

March 9-11, 2012 at Ahmanson Theatre: Evidence, A Dance Company
With a distinct integration of traditional African dance with contemporary choreography, Evidence, A Dance Company provides audiences with a truly compelling experience that dramatically weaves history and tradition. In March, Evidence will bring its latest work by famed director/choreographer Ronald K. Brown for a West Coast premiere of On Earth Together set to the music of R&B legend Stevie Wonder. Also to be performed will be Brown's critically acclaimed Grace, which is also in the repertory of the Alvin Ailey® American Dance Theater.
