11:00am – 4:00pm: Annual Friends of the Braun Library Book Sale on the Plaza
The Annual Friends of the Braun Library Book Sale will feature a variety of topics and over 3,500 books. All books are donated to the Library for the purpose of the sale and proceeds go into the Library’s acquisition fund.
 
Discussions With Authors
11:30am – 1:00pm: M.G. Lord & Kate Burton      
M.G. Lord's new book, The Accidental Feminist: How Elizabeth Taylor Raised Our Consciousness and We Were Too Distracted By Her Beauty To Notice, looks at the actress and icon in a new way. 
1:00pm – 1:45pm: Gustavo Arellano
Gustavo Arellano, author of Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America, is a staff writer with OC Weekly and a contributing editor to the Los Angeles Times Op/Ed pages. 
2:00pm – 2:45pm: Gabrielle Burton 
Searching for Tamsen Donner follows Burton’s own 1977 journey in which she retraced the Donner Trail of 1846 with her family. It also includes all of Tamsen Donner’s letters, published for the first time.
3:00pm – 4:00pm: Panel Discussion on Book Clubs          
In the online era it is interesting to see the growth of in-person book clubs. Why is it that when we talk about books and share our love of stories, we want to do it live? Book talk events are valuable because they build community and strengthen our personal relationships.

Stop by the Old West Saloon, the O.K. Corral and the Law & Order galleries to meet the author of Hollywood and the O.K. Corral: Portrayals of the Gunfight and Wyatt Earp, which examines eight movies, produced from 1939 to 1994, of the legendary gunfight.
