Multi-platinum pop rockers Goo Goo Dolls take the stage at the legendary Greek Theatre. Known for such huge '90s hits as "Iris," "Name," "Black Balloon" and "Slide," singer/guitarist Johnny Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac, and drummer Mike Malinin recently released a well-reviewed ninth studio album, Something for the Rest of Us. Their previous album, the successful Let Love In, spawned the title track single, along with "Better Days" and "Stay With You." The group has a total of 14 Top Ten singles in the Adult Top 40, making them one of the most successful bands in the adult contemporary genre. Special guests include Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Michelle Branch ("Everywhere" and her latest, "Loud Music") and rockers Parachute ("She Is Love"), who've also toured with Kelly Clarkson and Plain White Ts.

The Goo Goo Dolls are really good live, I'd definitely see them again. The big pain in the neck is stacked parking at The Greek. They do a great job of squeezing everyone in, but not one of the attendants appeared to give a hoot about guiding traffic out. It was chaotic, to say the least. Next time we'll take the Harley and avoid that nonsense.

The concert was great! Parachute came out first - and they were AWESOME. Those young men will go far. Michelle Branch was good - fighting off a cold - but good. The Goo Goo Dolls were FABULOUS! I can't believe they still sound just like their albums - awesome. Hadn't been to the Greek for awhile and LOVE the "Easy Access" non-stacked parking. Well worth the addt'l $5. That awful parking kept me away so this is great.

Goo Goo Dolls were magnificent. Enjoyment was enhanced further by the venue -- The Greek on a perfect summer evening. Michelle Branch disappointed with her canned music accompanyment (drums, backing vocals) but the Dolls quckly brought the experience to excellence with their opening notes and lightshow. Also, Parachute was a pleasant surprise.

Description

Goo Goo Dolls have extended their American tour with a stop at The Greek Theatre on Saturday, August 27.  The band's current album, Something for the Rest of Us continues to garner global critical praise.

More than ever, the songs of John Rzeznik seem to resonate deeply into the common consciousness of us all, reflecting the universal emotional fallout of our times in song.  It's no wonder the Goos have broken the record for the "Most Top 10 or higher Hits in Radio History," per Billboard Magazine.

Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac, and drummer Mike Malinin are on the road now. Don't miss Goo Goo Dolls live this summer with special guests Michelle Branch and Parachute.
